Motorcycling Victoria is very pleased to announce that after an extensive and thorough recruitment process Michael Burns has been announced as its new Operations Manager.
After an overwhelming response to MV’s job advertisement that was placed on Seek a few months ago, MV outsourced the recruitment process to industry recruiters Basecamp.
A stringent audit of the final candidates was undertaken during the final selection phase in which Michael Burns, MV’s current President, was chosen as the successful candidate.
As such, MV’s Board at its next Board meeting will elect a new President as Michael will, obviously, be standing down as President.
“Michael brings with him a fantastic mix of commercial operational expertise and an in-depth knowledge of the sport which will benefit MV greatly as it continues its growth in all aspects of the sport,” MV’s CEO Wayne Holdsworth said.
Michael said: “I am extremely excited by the opportunity represented by this role. I am looking forward to working with Wayne and all the team in developing an even greater customer focused organisation.
“I think one of the most exciting outcomes of this appointment will bring is the ability for MV to provide more support to its customers (members and clubs) which desperately need more tools and help in providing this support.
“I look forward to using my commercial expertise in exploring new ways to provide greater value to our members,” Michael added.
MV’s Mark Vallance will continue to develop and roll-out programs in his capacity as Development & Events Manager that will assist clubs and rider development such as the Elite Rider Training Camp and other exciting initiatives that are in the initial stages of development.
Michael will commence his role in early May.
