The Victorian Quad Championships are taking place this weekend hosted by the Quad Riders Club of Victoria (QRCV) at the Ararat Motocross Track.

Kelsey Powell is a member of QRCV and the Race Secretary for this weekend and she says that working alongside the Ararat Motorcycle Club is fantastic for her club and the Quads discipline.

“We have ran an event at Ararat every year for quite a while now. The track has good facilities and they are always a great help with running our events,” Kelsey said.

“We do struggle with getting tracks, unfortunately there are not many motocross tracks that welcome quads around the state which is disappointing but Ararat have been great.”

Keeping the Quads discipline alive is one of the main reasons that Kelsey and the QRCV run events like this coming weekend.

“With numbers so low the last few years we feel keeping these events running keeps the club going until, hopefully, soon member numbers and entries pick up again.”

Kelsey and the QRCV would like to thank their sponsors and the people who have assisted in making this weekend possible.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has put in and helped to prepare for the weekend. Sandra has been my biggest help with me constantly throwing more jobs at her. Rod, Dwayne and the Ararat club have been great helping us organise our weekend event.”
“We’d like to thank all of our sponsors, particularly our major sponsors Hardiman performance imports, Austraco, Quad Squad, Colac Motorcycles, 3B Small Engines and Colin Robinson with K & S Freighters.”
When asked what she enjoys about the Victorian Quad Championships (and Quads in general) Kelsey said:
“It’s always great to see everyone out there still riding, especially getting the new riders in the mix. Having everyone work together to make the event as good as possible! Great family atmosphere everyone gets along and has a great time.”
The 2017 Victorian Quad Championships is taking place this Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August at the Ararat Motorcycle Club, for further information you can check out the QRCV website –
