With Motorcycling Victoria’s Elite Rider Training Camp just over a week away, riders are eagerly awaiting the chance to hear those off-bike tips and tricks that will get them closer to their goals. One of those riders is James Davies.
James will be our first rider to represent the speedway discipline at the Elite Rider Training Camp and he has competed in a number of speedway events so far in 2016, not just in Victoria.
“I’ve raced in the Winter Sizzler that is held in North Brisbane, as well as the Teams Meeting and Winter Series that has been held at Albury-Wadonga and Undera Park,” James said.
“I just missed out on making the final of the Winter Sizzler, getting second in the semi-final so fifth overall, and I rode for the Diamond Stars in the Teams Meeting, scoring eight points and our team took the win by five points.”
James’ goals and aims for his riding future are simple to say but not always easy to reach and that’s where he’s hoping the Elite Rider Training Camp will come in and help out.
“My goals for 2016 are to get faster every time I ride my bike and to become fitter and stronger. The same goes for 2017 but next year I also want to spend some time in the UK learning how everything works over there compared to Australia.
“I’m counting on the Training Camp to teach me more about fitness and nutrition and I just generally want to learn things I didn’t already know,” he added.
“The Training Camp will hopefully show me ways to become fitter and better prepared mentally for my riding.”
The MV Elite Rider Training Camp is held at the Melbourne Parkview Hotel from September 19-21.
You’ll be able to follow all the news and images from the Camp via MV’s Elite Rider Training Camp Facebook Page.
