2019-2020 Athlete Pathway Grants – Now Open

Motorcycling Victoria are are pleased to share that the first round of 2019-20 Athlete Pathway Travel Grants are now open and will close 11.59pm Monday, 4 November 2019.

Motorcycling Victoria encourage you to pass this onto anyone who may be interested and wanting to apply.

The guidelines for this program can be found at www.sport.vic.gov.au/grants-and-funding/our-grants/athlete-pathway-travel-grants-program.  It is recommended you read the program guidelines before applying as some changes have been made this year.

 

The program still has two funding categories:

Category 1: Organisations recognised by Sport and Recreation Victoria

Who can apply: State sporting associations, Victorian regional academies of sport and state sport and recreation bodies recognised by Sport and Recreation Victoria

What can they apply for: They can apply on behalf of Victorian teams or individuals for travel and accommodation costs to compete at an event or series of events as a state representative athlete. This includes mandatory training camps, selection trials and national championships events

How many grants can organisations apply for? Organisations are eligible to apply for up to three grants in any round.

  • One grant of up to $6000 are available for teams with a maximum of $1000 per team member.
  • Two grants for individuals are available up to a maximum of $1500 each.

Recognised organisations will be eligible for a maximum of three grants in any financial year. Eligibility does not guarantee success.

Did you know? Recognised organisations can apply in advance of teams or individuals being selected for events.  See the application form on how to provide details if a team/individual has yet to be selected.

Category 1 travel dates: This round covers travel commencing between 1 Jan 2020 to 30 June 2020 and is available for use over a 12 month period.

 

Category 2: Victorian Sport and Recreation Clubs:

Who can apply: Victorian sport and recreation clubs

What can they apply for: They can apply for on behalf of emerging athletes (individuals or teams) to assist with the costs of travel and accommodation to train or compete at events that contribute to their development within their sporting pathway. Clubs can also apply for funding for coaches and officials to assist with the costs of travel to carry out official duties at events.

How many grants can organisations apply for? Organisations are eligible to apply for up to two grants in any round.

  • Grants of up to $2000 are available for teams with a maximum of $500 per team member; and/or
  • Grants of $750 for individuals.

Victorian sport and recreation clubs are eligible for a maximum of two grants in any financial year. Eligibility does not guarantee success.

Category 2 travel dates:  This round covers travel commencing between 5 November 2019 to 30 June 2020 and is available for use over a 12 month period.
