SMSC Run Events

The State Motorcycle Sports Complex runs a number of recreational, race practice and junior development/coaching days throughout the year.

Below is a brief rundown on each type of event and a link to those event dates.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL EVENTS (with the exception of Junior Development Days)

These days provide people with the opportunity to come along and enjoy the experience of riding a road circuit under the safe direction of a Clerk of Course, 3 Track Marshals and paramedical services.

Sign-on for the day commences at approximately 7.30am and the first track sessions should commence at approximately 9.00am after the Rider Briefing.

All riders must attend the Rider Briefing. The Clerk of Course will establish groups based on the riders that have signed on and depending on the number of groups, sessions will generally be of 15-20 minutes duration.

We will stop for a lunch break somewhere between 12.00 and 1.00pm and then resume sessions with the last session finishing at approximately 4.00pm.

Although we do not have bike Scrutineering it is expected that your bike be in a sound and roadworthy condition otherwise the Clerk of Course will ask that you leave the Circuit until the bike is rectified.  Any glass on your bike (i.e. mirrors, headlight) should be taped over.

ROAD RIDE DAYS

Our Road Broadford Ride Days are designed to provide road riders and recreational track riders on solo bikes only (not National licensed Racers, Juniors or Sidecars) with the opportunity to come along and enjoy the experience of riding a road circuit under the safe direction of a Clerk of Course, 3 Track Marshals and paramedical services.

We have four Ricondi leather suits (L, XL, XXL sizes available) that can be available for hire at Road Broadford Ride Days throughout the year at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex. To pre-book leathers, please contact Ann-Marie Upton on details below.

Should you not have a current MA Recreational Licence then you would need to purchase a Recreational Licence which can be provided on the day.  The cost of a Day Recreational Licence is $30.00 or an Annual Recreational Licence is $135.00.

The day includes both classroom and on track sessions overseen by accredited Coaches. The Junior Development Day Program is aimed at road circuit riders between the ages of 7 and 16.

All new riders to the Road Circuit will need to complete a Kick Start Program at our Road Race Junior Development Day prior to being permitted to ride on the Road Circuit.  Progression to use of the Road Circuit is at the discretion of the accredited Coach on the day.
