Maffra-Sale MC revs-up for Round 3 of the VSMXC on June 27-28.
MAFFRA-SALE Motorcycle Club will welcome some of the best motocross riders from not only Victoria but the country when the club hosts the third round of the 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships this weekend, June 27-28.
Maffra-Sale Motorcycle Club president Simon Alen is revved-up for his club to host the state’s premier motocross competition for seniors. “We’ve been getting the track prepared and we’re waiting on the weather. You try and provide the best track you can for the riders,” Simon said.
“Hosting the Victorian Senior Motocross Championships provides an avenue for our local riders to pit themselves against the best in the state and it gives the chance for riders who are racing all over the country the chance to ride at their own track for a change,” he added.
Simon’s son, James Alen, 19, competes in the Pro Lites class at the 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championship and currently sits in fifth overall.
“I’ve been riding since I was four-years-old. Maffra-Sale MC is a great family club,” James said. The rider from Valencia Creek also competes in the Pro Lites (MX1) class at the 2015 MX Nationals.
“This year I’m sitting in 25th-place overall out of 52 riders. In the last round at Coolum I finished 18th, which I was pretty happy with,” James, who is also a privateer, added.
On the VSMXC this weekend, James added: “I would love to make the podium actually. It’s my home track and I have a bit of an advantage. Hopefully, I make the top three and prove myself.”
James would like to thank SPMX, Ringmaster Images and his parents for all their support. “It’s been great having my Mum and Dad’s support; I wouldn’t be where I am today without them,” James added.
Round 3 of the 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships takes place at Slaughterhouse Lane in Newry on June 27-28. Entries for the competition close tonight at 7PM. For more information please visit www.motorcyclingvic.com.au.
