MOTORCYCLING Victoria have completed the state titles for both Juniors and Seniors in 2012.
This year saw the introduction of a Women's Expert and Clubman class for the Senior titles. With only a weeks notice of this Clubman class happening, it was exciting to see 14 enter in the Clubman class Round 1 at Wonthaggi.
Although numbers declined in this class towards the end of the series we are hoping that it has created interest for 2013 and encourage more women come out to compete.
This along with women riders being able to purchase a National One Event Licence for both State Titles and Nationals it will hopefully help attract more women to participate in the Senior class.
In the Junior titles we had 10 girls compete in the Girls class. We also have other girls competing within the 50cc , 65cc and 85cc classes laying their skills on the track with the boys and were taking it right up to them and showing them that there is no prettiness and niceties when it comes to racing.
Racers are all the same male or female – competitive and up to any challenge layed on the track.
Congratulations to all girls who placed in the top three for their classes. To the others helmets off to you girls for giving it your all and achieving many personal bests.
We llook forward to seeing you all around the tracks again next year and hope that you can bring more of your friends into this sport!
