CEO Report: MV forms partnership with VicHealth
July 20, 2011

MV will partner VicHealth to run certain initiatives relating to female activities within our sport.

MOTORCYCLING Victoria released details a couple of weeks ago about the successful application for government funding to run certain initiatives relating to female activities within our sport.

That funding is through VicHealth, and totals $341,762 over the next three years.

While MV has been supported by VicHealth for programs in the past, it has been some time since we have seen such a large financial commitment towards specific initiatives driven through our organisation.

On one hand, it is extremely exciting to be given the recognition by a Victorian Government Agency who believes in our people, our strategic direction, and our ability to deliver on the program objectives and desired outcomes.

On the other hand we should not be too complacent, and recognise that this is going to involve a lot of hard work and a huge commitment from all of us to ensure its success.

The funding itself is specifically allocated over a number of areas.  The broad overview of this is to increase participation of females in our sport, to develop safe, inclusive and welcoming environments, and to bring about sustainable organisational change at state, club and member levels.

To achieve this, we will be looking to ensure that:

· Champions of change are active

· Expectations about behaviour are met

· Facilities and activities are accessible

· Everyone participates

· Commitment through ongoing action

We will keep our motorcycling community updated on how we are tracking throughout the course of this funding period, and will be extending opportunities for everyone to be involved.

As always, we are open to feedback to see how we can improve and help your sport, and I would invite any feedback to be sent directly to me via ceo@motorcyclingvic.com.au.
