The 2012 Australian Senior Dirt Track Championship was run and won in Brisbane last weekend, with nine Aussie Champions crowned after a weekend of spectacular riding.

A strong pack of contenders battled it out across nine different classes at the two-day event, which was hosted by the North Brisbane Motorcycling Club at the Mick Doohan Motorcyle Raceway in Northgate.

Queensland turned on brilliant weather for the opening day of the Championship, before the skies opened up on Saturday night to drench the track ahead of the second and final day of competition.

Local rider Jake Allen claimed top honours in the Pro Open class ahead of 2011 Champion Jace Castles and fellow Queenslander Ryan Douglas.

Defending Pro Lites Champion Luke Richards retained his crown, despite having been off the bike since November due to shoulder surgery. Silver and bronze were picked up by Alan MacDonald and Sean McLellan.

The MX Open class wento Jace Castles, who performed strongly in the class across the weekend to best rivals Sean McLellan and Luke Richards. Castles also collected the Unlimited Open with a first place finish in the final in front of Jake Allen and Luke Richards.

After a five round weekend, Under 19's honours went to Robbie Menzies-Sargant, ahead of Ryan Douglas and Brendan Boswell.

Kayla McClelland was victorious after a close weekend of racing in the Women's Open, getting her name inked in the record books in front of Meika Bouwman and Briony Hendrickson.

Defending Quad Open and Quad Pro 450 Champion Mel Brandle held on the crowns in both classes, coming home ahead of Adrian Wise and and Toby Hyde in the Open, and Toby Hyde and Lyle Prowse in the Pro 450.

The 2012 Sidecars title went Adam Liebke/Graham Liebke, who outpaced the pairings of Steve Liebke/Mick Doyle and Corey Banks/Tom Banks in the final.
