Become an Official at the 2012 Aust MotoGP
June 28, 2012

The Australian round of the MotoGP World Championship is returning again in 2012, and a tremendous opportunity exists for interested people to join the team and become an Official for the event.

Australia’s biggest weekend of motorcycle racing will be held at Phillip Island on 26 - 28 October, and Officials will once again have the chance to be part of the fun and get up close and personal with the world’s best riders.

The 2012 event at Phillip Island will be Australian Casey Stoner's last as he has announced his retirement from the MotoGP Championship at the conclusion of this season. It will be an emotional experience to see the defending World Champion race for the last time in his home country and hopefully Casey can win his sixth consecutive race at Phillip Island.

For 2012, the 125cc International class will be replaced by the new 4-stroke, Moto3 class that will feature two young up and coming Australians, Jack Miller and Arthur Sissis, who will be challenging for the win. As always, the very best of Australian road racing will be back on track with National support categories competing on each day of the event. For 2012, the National Support categories featured will be the Australian Superbikes/Superstock 1000 and the Australian Supersport/Superstock 600.

A variety of roles exists for Officials at the 2012 MotoGP - including pit marshals, flag and track marshals and communicators - and volunteering as an Official has many benefits.

Each official that attends the 2012 MotoGP will be provided with a guest pass that will allow access to the circuit for a friend for all three days of the event as well as the Officials BBQ held for all marshals on Saturday evening. Free camping is available again for all Officials and up to two guests. This is a great way to enjoy the event experience with fellow officials once the sun goes down.
