Stephen Foody
President
Steve began racing in the late 1960s, trying his hand across multiple disciplines including Motocross, Dirt Track and Speedway, and racing for a number of years. In the late '80s he turned to officiating. Steve was President of the Junior Motorcycling Association of South Australia from 1990-93, and has been a member of the South Coast Motocross Club of South Australia - where he is now a life-member - since 1987.
Steve is the Managing Director of Adelaide Wireware P/L, a company he has run since 1980, and he joined the Board of Motorcycling South Australia becoming the Vice President in 1996 and President in 2003. He was elected to the MA Board as Vice-President in May 2006, and President in May 2010.
Lyal began Motocross racing in 1972 and became an ‘A’ grade rider within only three years, competing in an International MX meeting in 1976. Eventually he moved from Motocross into Dirt Track and Long Track racing becoming the State 500 Dirt Track Champion in 1978 before he stopped racing in 1983. It was in the field of administration that Lyal has devoted most of his motorcycling time, acting as the Murray Bridge Sporting Car & Motorcycle Club delegate to the Auto Cycle Union of South Australia from 1974 until 1984.
From 1980 until 1997 he was on the Local Sub-Committee of the Speedway Control Board. Lyal has also had plenty of experience as an Official, having been in the roles of Clerk of Course, Steward or Referee since 1975 for both MA and the FIM. He has worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the field of farm and industrial machinery design for over 30 years.
