Jed Beaton is one round away from possibly winning his first senior title at the 2015 VSMXC at Albury-Wodonga.
MAFFRA-SALE’s Jed Beaton is one round away from possibly winning his first senior title in Victoria’s premier motocross competition for seniors – the 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships.
The 17-year-old Maffra-Sale Club Motorcycle member leads the Pro Lites class by 22-points over Rosebud’s Jack Simpson and Ballarat’s Joel Milesevic and will take them on at Albury-Wodonga this weekend, July 25-26.
Jed aims to ride his own race on the weekend. “I hope to win the title this weekend at Albury-Wodonga. I haven’t won a senior title before so it’ll be a great feeling,” Jed said.
Fortunately for Jed, he has experience riding the tight and technical track at Albury-Wodonga. “I rode there two years ago in the Victorian Junior Motocross Championships. Some sections of the track are pretty tight but it’s a good track,” he added.
Jed has emphatically won his last six races in the Pro Lites class, sweeping round two at Ballarat’s Monza Park in May and round three at his hometown track at Maffra-Sale in June. He finished second in both races at Broadford in March.
Beaton also currently sits in fourth-place in the MX2 250 Pro Championship at the 2015 MX Nationals, after finishing in sixth-place overall at Round 7 in Shepparton last weekend, July 18-19.
Jed would like to thank Sherco Yamaha, Yamaha Australia his parents and his brother Ross for all their amazing support this season.
The 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships takes place at the Albury-Wodonga Motorcycle Club along the Lincoln Causeway in Wodonga. Racing starts at 9am on both days, July 25-26.
The final day of the 2015 VSMXC, July 26, will also be covered live online at www.mysportlive.com.au.
