Toolleen Park provided a fantastic venue for the climax to the first Outlaw Tri-State Series last weekend.

In the Senior Pro class Victorian rider Aaron Ovens was unable hold out Polaris team mate Luke Beechey. Ovens suffered a blown rear shocker in the second moto and was unable to complete sufficient laps to earn points, putting a massive dent in his championship ambitions.

However it was Luke Beechey who owned the day, winning all three motos to win the Senior Pro class by, what turned out to be, a comfortable margin over Aaron Ovens and Anthony Delios. Beechey finished the championship on 200 points, 39 ahead of Aaron Ovens (161) with Anthony Delios a further 9 points back on 152.

Beechey was understandably happy after the race.

"I am thrilled with the win and thank all the organisers and sponsors," he said.

In the Senior Expert class, Justin Agosta started the weekend 1 point behind Tait Ovens but he flew out of the blocks winning the first to motos to take the lead in the championship heading into the final race.

There was drama in the final moto, however, when Agosta had a spill and he soon found himself at the back of the pack giving Ovens one last shot at taking the championship. Ovens couldn't quite pull out the performance needed and it was Agosta, on 197 points, who took out the championship from Tait Ovens (184) and Jon Wade (173).

A huge field turned out for the Womens class, which saw Patricia Bartley from NSW battling it out with Jeanette Lindsay from Victoria. Lindsay missed the first round in Canberra so was always playing catch up, but after dominating Round 2 at Mt Gambier nothing was out of the question. Nipping at their heels all weekend was Donna Newman.

As expected it was Bartley who held onto the Championship lead, with young Ainsley Anderson holding onto second place ahead of Jeanette Lindsay who put up a gallant performance over the final two rounds, but ultimately the round she missed at Canberra would prove her downfall.

Once again it was the Veterans Class with the biggest field of the day. Peter Middleton and Rick Beer have had some classic contests over the first two rounds and Sunday was no different with Beer just coming out on top for the weekend. However a mishap in the first round cost him in the overall championship and it was Peter Middleton (205 pts) who took home the title ahead of Beer (166) and Ian Haggie (153)

It was a Father vs Son battle in the Jumbo Juniors class as Rob van Vliet (Father) took on Mitch van Vliet (Son). It proved somewhat of an anti-climax however as Mitch's quad broke down under the strain of his demanding riding style, which left the championship there for the taking for Rob. And that is exactly what he did. He didn't have it all his own way though as Phil Ede made a late rally for the championship, but in the end had to settle for third behind Rob (178 pts) and Peter Wilhelms (170).

After the race Mitch could see the lighter side of his unfortunate weekend.

"I had to let Dad win, he pays for all the Quads!" he said jokingly.

The junior classes yet again proved amazing to watch. Leading the 90cc class heading into the final round, Jack Taylor had an accident in the last moto but still took home the championship ahead of Cooper van Vliet, who proved to be a consistent performer across all three rounds.

The 300cc was full on all weekend. Riders from all three states were on hand to battle it out and it proved a dynamic mix. Adam Larson lead the championship by 6 points from Luke Nixon heading into the weekend. But a stunning weekend from Nixon, which saw him win all three motos, catapulted him into the 1st place overall in the championship just 3 points ahead of Larson. Jake van Vliet's consistency across all three rounds ensured a third place finish.

The Quad Riders Club of Victoria were (QRCV) thrilled with the success of the Outlaw Tri-State Series and are already looking forward to organising next year's series. With Polaris coming on as Major Sponsor, it has had a big impact on the circuit and the QRCV would like to thank them for their very generous support.
