Coaching can be one of the most rewarding jobs one can have within the sport of motorcycling. Coaches ensure that our next generation of motorcycling stars are instructed correctly and are more than capable of mixing it with the best Australia has to offer.

To become a qualified coach you will first need to complete a Coaching Course. Coaching Courses are conducted by Motorcycling Victoria throughout the year, with Ian Willis (State Coaching and Officials Director) taking the would-be coaches through the course. Each Coaching Course consists of 3 sessions, both practical and theoretical, as well as a test that must be passed. The cost of the course is $150 per person, which includes all tuition, coaching manuals and coaching licence valid for one year.

Once you have completed the Level 1 Coaching Course, you will need to meet certain criteria (outlined on Coaching Licence Application Form) each year to have your licence renewed. For those wishing to renew their Coaching Licence, this comes at a cost of $15.00. Provided you have completed a Coaching Course in the four (4) years previous and have completed the required criteria, simply complete the Application Form and return to Motorcycling Victoria.

A coach will start as a Level One coach and will need to complete 20 hours of supervised coaching before they can conduct coaching days. Coaches will have the opportunity to progress to a higher level of coach, with Level Two Coaching Courses being conducted at the Australian Institute of Sport throughout the year.
